RNS510 v17 map update

Featured Replies

Skoda UK inform me the 2020 v.17 map update is now available, but at around £300 from dealers it seems rather ridiculous.

Has anyone found a source at reasonable cost?

Yes dealers provide it in high pricey.

Plenty of such on ebay, Amazon etc dramatically cheaper.

Seems I wasn't clear enough for some...

Yes eBay may be one alternative to dealers. However v.17 DVD doesn't yet seem to be available (apart from dealers).

I was asking if anyone had found where it can be bought, rather than where it might be.

Since when has mentioning a legitimate seller been "unauthorised"?

I thought this place was supposed to help owners!

generally speaking, Briskoda doesnt allow posting of links to potentially fraudulent means of acquiring things such as software etc.

if the legitimate seller has or may have stuff acquired through possibly suspicous channels (such as a barely released map update that only dealers have access to at present appearing for sale on the internet) will get removed as it may be levied, legally speaking, at the forum for dispersing information on illegally acquired material.

think that sums it up? ;)

The v.17 update was released at dealers in January, that's 6 months ago.

Torrent or other similar sites I can see as being "suspicious" but a business website...

It appears someone is getting carried away with their privileges.

Still it won't affect me any longer. This isn't the place it once was.

If I was getting carried away with my privileges then I really should have given warnings to people who post links to software that is blatantly not officially authorised!

I suggest you read the Site Guidelines and understand the difference between a legitimate seller and one who sells cloned software.

I didn't see the link in question - but if the link was taking you to anywhere selling the software for less than around £225 (which is what I think was the kind of price you could negotiate dealers down to, it has been a while since I have needed maps for an RNS510) then it wasn't a "business website", it will have been a website selling cloned or pirated versions.

If you don't want to buy the map updates that is your choice, but you cannot expect a legitimate website such as this to allow people to link to sources of illegal software. It's the same way this site would not allow links to illegal and dodgy copies of VCDS.

This site has always been a professional site, I think you will obviously find yourself more at home at the numerous far more "open" websites that allow the trade and distribution of any software you could desire.
