VW Data Plug Compatibility

Featured Replies

If anyone is interested in purchasing one of the new Data Plugs for their Skoda but doesn’t want to pay £40 from Skoda, I ordered a VW Data Plug from eBay for £4.99 and it works fine with the Skoda Connect Lite app.

Hi, what model car have you and is it still working ok?

I bought a VW one off eBay as well, it came from Lookers Vauxhall Parts but Lookers have a VW dealership and though it didn't have fancy packaging it did come with some VW literature and I don't doubt it is a genuine part.  Works fine, only issue was the Bluetooth code which wasn't clear whether things were a O or a 0.

The connect Lite app works well and would be quite good if it showed all the info it can get but it seems I have to go for drives to get points which will eventually unlock other bits of information. If I drive to the dealers I get a 1000 points, quite why I should have to go for a pointless drive to get points to unlock extra features beats me, not very green. Other challenges include going for a drive and not going over 2000 rpm which could be dangerous in some places.
