Good morning,

I'm sure some of you have already received Škoda's farewell message regarding the closure of the Connect Lite app.

I'd like to quote a passage: "We must inform you of the significant decision that from 1 July 2025, Skoda Connect LITE will be discontinued. After this date, the service will no longer be available and the application will be deactivated".

I'm naturally disappointed that the app is being removed, especially since I spent around 50 euros on that Data Plug that fits under the steering wheel, which will now just be a paperweight. However, I'm particularly saddened because over the years, I have compiled a detailed record of fuel refills and kilometres driven per fill-up (in my case, CNG). Connect Lite also managed to provide a precise report on every journey made, which is quite useful when travelling.

So, my first question is: how can I export all this data to avoid losing it, and perhaps import it elsewhere? And where might 'elsewhere' be? I know there are many apps that allow you to record your petrol, diesel, or LPG refills, but from my direct experience - having tried a couple in the past - there has always been a lack of support for methane (CNG).

What disappoints me most about the message from the manufacturer, however, is that no alternative solutions are provided. The app also never managed to reach its full potential. For example, although Connect Lite could potentially detect the smartphone's location via GPS, when recording the refuelling location, one had to manually enter the street and the name of the refuelling station (unless one had the navigator directly on board).

What do you all think?

I'll leave a few screenshots of the app, useful for future reference.

I echo everything you've said. I've just downloaded Fuelio and it seems this might be a suitable replacement.  But I really would like to export the data I've put into connect lite over the last 4 years and then wish about trying to import said data into Fuelio.

The writing was on the cards for it to be discontinued after GPS loction stopped working a couple of months ago and Skoda Support failed to reply to emails about it.

I've been using Connect Lite since I first got an Octavia in July 2016, so I'll miss it's ease of use.

I’ve sent them a message because I really refuse to lose all that data about supplies recorded in the app over the years. I need it!

Hello, I'm sorry that this beautiful application will be discontinued this summer.
Do you know of any other similar application that also has a trip recorder via OBD2?

I've been working on an app using Tasker (paid-for app) to replace Connect Lite for tracking mileage. I started using Torque Pro (paid-for app) with a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE (there's other OBD adapters that work with Torque Pro). The Tasker app then uses the AutoSheets plugin (I think this is paid for) to log each trip to Google Sheets. I have this working and it seems to work reliably - though the OBD adapter seems to drain the car's battery if left connected for long periods.

Tasker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en_GB

Autosheets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autosheets&hl=en_GB

Torque pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en_GB

Another approach I have been trying to work on is to adapt it to use this Android Auto app https://github.com/jilleb/mqb-pm This has the added benefit of working with Android Auto and not needing an OBD adapter. I have just managed to automate extracting the mileage data from the log files this app produces, but not integrated this fully yet. The downside is it only works with MIB2 and MIB 2.5 headunits (not MIB 3). Also the app needs to be launched within Android Auto before the end of the trip.

If I manage to get this to some sort of state I consider more widely useable, I can share it on Taskernet.

Or perhaps if someone here has some experience of programming in Tasker I can find some way to share what I have done so far....

Could we find a programmer to reprogram the application and make it free and remove the warning?

Hi guys, I agree to re-programme app to keep it running normally after 1.6.2025 and maybe add setting option to saving driving data to a private or alternative server. Something like Synology or small online webstore as Webshare... It looks like Skoda is running out of space on their servers for this app or no willing to continue with support.

yes I hope you manage to reprogram the APK file and the route files are stored on the mobile or on googledrive or some server of choice. if this happens all of us who have it will be happy with this easy route tracking with gps and bluetooth and OBD2
