Superb Dashboard / Airvent noises

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have some issues with my Skoda for a while and i am trying for two mounts to fix it.

First problem is a rattle noise when i press the gas at arround 2000 Rpm, sounds like a bee and it dissapear after 2700 2800rpm. The second one seems to come from the central air vent sistem. The bigger problem is that i took the car at the workplace, they removed pretty much everything but we still can't find the origin of the sound. It's very annoying and almost imposible to drive on highroards even inside the city. Any ideea ?

and of course TDI, but that was obvious before i paid 40k Euros :)

Other commonly reported rattles come from a/c pipes running from the dash, behind the bulkhead and into the engine bay.

I've had a high pitch buzz (like angry bees) coming from the same area (behind the central dash vents) since the car was near enough new.  The dealer won't investigate it properly.  The buzz is more common in the warmer weather and will usually start from 4K revs.

Put your dash air vent fan full blast for a couple of seconds - this removes it for me.

Yeah seems to me that this is the spot but the same, they refuse to go anywere deep inside because they got too much to work ( removing the freezing liquid, removing the AC and the heater from inside. Anyway the job they did it's billed on my wallet... i also added some insulation to the dashboard and all over the place to try hide the noise even if it is still here. In my opinion this is a premium car, things like theese should never happened. This is the seecond time i removed the dashboard panel, first time was on a warranty ticket, one of the motors of the vents went crazy and every time i was starting the car it was very loud... I would think twice next time for a new car from Skoda .. probably i will go along with Audi..
