Interior Dash/Door Trim

Featured Replies

The Edition spec comes with a gloss black effect dash/door trim (with an odd silvery ‘grain’).

The SE spec has a brush metal effect for these trim parts. Does anyone know if it is possible to easily change them and how much the parts from the SE might cost?

The SE silver trim really looks low rent in the flesh, the black in my SEL and Edition is much better and classy looking and the silvery grain is very subtle and not in your face.

I’d have to look again at an SE, but I didn’t think the silver was a problem. My issue with the black one is the glare/reflection from it when driving. I find it somewhat distracting and hoped the more matt silver trim would be less so.

Never had a problem with glare in 2 years of ownership and haven’t seen anyone reporting a problem either. Think that silver would distract me though :)

Have to agree with Kenny R here. Never had a problem with the trim in my SE L either and I think the silver trim looks low rent. But, beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Would it be worth making enquiries about getting the trim you don't like wrapped ? If it's possible, it could be a cheaper option.

Just to add a contrast; I thought the opposite. I find the gloss black trim quite cheap looking and the silver understated and ‘classic’ . It’s the thing I get compliments on the most (in the car).
Each to their own.

Come on guys, live a little, think beyond the usual black and silver.

Go for the proper 1980's fake wood look 😂

In all of Skoda's online material it looked pretty worrying, but in the flesh it is OK and I've grown to like it...

I wasn't prepared to spend the £130 to 'upgrade' to the Mythos trim (as per the SE L and Edition) when ordering our Scout.

Interestingly they've removed the option to change the trim on the Scout now...

Going back to the original question, changing them is relatively easy, there are 6 pieces, one on each door (x4), the upper glovebox lid (x1) and to the right of the steering wheel (x1) and they simply clip on.

For anyone who specialises in panel wrapping, or dash cam installations then removing and replacing these panels will take them seconds, probably without breaking any clips or marking the dash too...

They will be quite expensive though, phone around a few local car wrapping company's, you can vinyl wrap the panels in whichever finish you want and you'll be surprised how factory-fitted it can look...
