Catch can

Featured Replies

Emptyed my catch can for the first time after being on for a week and this is what was inside, any ideas?

First place I'd check would be a leaking cylinder head gasket.  Also worth checking your engine oil for evidence of emulsion - especially around the filler neck.

Tip it into a clear jar and let it settle out to see how much is water and how much oil. Do you do lots of short journeys?

Engines make water when they burn hydrocarbons, so some should be no surprise. If that's mostly oil though, it looks like a lot.

What car is this on?
