Hi Skoda people - I'm new on here and haven't used a forum in ages so please bear with me if I accidentally say anything controversial or stupid etc!

Having found this very helpful thread

which is pretty old, I have disabled (I hope - I haven't been out in the car yet) the seat belt warning pinging noise by unplugging the connector. Thanks to those who contributed to it.

My question is that if there is enough wear and tear to make the warning ping system malfunction, is the seatbelt in danger of failing when it's needed too? The car is an 07 plate with 95K miles and has today passed it's MOT. My garage is suggesting a fix is very expensive - which usually means they don't know and/or don't want to do the work.

Any informed views would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Hello , my brother has biught kodiak with matrix led lights. One of the problem is that high beam don't light up automatically and there is option to enable it on the menu. I have read somewere that someone had the same problem , but in tme meatime recieved an ota update and the function appeard . I have an obd11 but can't connect the car because of rhe newer protection so I was wondering how I could enable it. Another thing is if it would be possible to enable the inner rear stop lights. First time starting a project thread, bear with me... Heard about this Roomster not too far from me that might be heading for a scrapyard, and decided to try to acquire it. Local dealership said it would cost £300 to upgrade my maps and suggested that there are better options them then for this! After lots of online research I decided to update the firmware from H4120 to 5274. I have the zipped file RNS_510_FW_5274_update.iso and have burned this to a DVD at lowest speed. When I put the DVD in the unit (no keys in iginition) it whirs around and then after 20-30 seconds comes back with a CD/DVD error. The unit will play a normal music

For the past few weeks my Skoda Scala Infotainment unit has been prompting me to do updates. Almost everyday I get the prompt to do an update. I only get the one prompt in a day. I believe the procedure is to park, accept the update, turn off the ignition, exit the car and lock it. I think some updates only apply when you next start the car.
