Matching bright white bulbs

Featured Replies

Hi - just got my Octy 2 (Jan06) so I think that's pre FL? Anyway sorting out decent lights was my most pressing issue.

I've just installed a matched set of road legal +150% Halogens ...  all with Xenon look 'bright' white, I've used these before when helping mates to see in the night when driving so I tend to stick with what I know - I realised the aftermarket bulb market is a nightmare so hopefully this will help point you in the right direction rather than buying crazy expensive new headlight units:

Sidelight - W5W (aka 501)          Philips WhiteVision 5w / 12V  code 12961NBVB2

Dipped Beam    - H7                    Osram Night Breaker Next Generation    code H7 12V 55W PX26d / 64210NL - HCB / 499NL

Main Beam        - H1                    Osram Night Breaker Next Generation    code H1 12V 55W P14.5s / 64150NL - HCB / 448NL

Front Fog           - H8                     already running bright whites - but would have matched the Osrams.

Indicators front and rear  - PY21W                     I opted for silver finish bulbs to prevent the "fried egg look"- box of 10 on ebay for £14.99 delivered:
