Spotify

Featured Replies

I appear to have been given a 6 month free Premium Spotify membership. I've not used it before, is it something wirth having, what can I do with it? 🤣

Listen to music. Fiancee has been a paying customer for quite a few years and likes it.

You can make up playlists (or listen to other already made up for you "easy blues", "Monday morning tracks" that sort of thing) and then download over wifi if you are worried about the data charges.

Integrated with a lot of cars. My BMW would talk directly to Spotify on an iPhone (but it doesn't work well with Android).

They have most songs and music you could want but I guess it is mostly aimed at the younger market. If you try it remember you'll need to cancel at month 5 probably or they'll start to charge you.

Probably not anything I want then. I bought a sound bar for the telly and this came with it. I'm not looking for a new way of having music delivered to me, it'll just overcomplicate things for me in a time I'm looking to simplify.

Soundbar might have bluetooth. That can work well with your phone (mine does) as a way to play music.

Spotify works on desktops as well, even some radios. it's not just a phone thing. I think there is a free version as well with adverts.

I've got the free version with Ads.  It works well, and certainly at identifying the type of music you like.  But after a short honeymoon/get you hooked period, it rapidly becomes an advertising medium with a bit of Spotify in between them.  I don't want or need it enough to subscribe, and my penchant for avoiding all things marketing means I'm not using it any more.
