Strange sound around 15 km/h

Featured Replies

Hi!

I got my Kodiaq (1.5 TSI DSG) for a few weeks and now I noticed that when I turn the engine on, put in D and start slowly drive then around 13-15 km/h there is short sound "trrrr".  After then there is no more similar sound and it`s come back only when I stop the engine, turn it on again and start drive.

Dealer sad that it`s  normal, but I`m not sure.

Do you got similar sound?

P.S. Maybe someone can share the link to the topic where I can find out some discussion about rear tail light. I want to change middle tail light to full LED and I`m sure that someone already done that and share with experience :)

Can't help with the DSG gearbox sound. Ask the dealer that told you it is normal to let you borrow their 1.5 TSI DSG demonstrator, and see if it makes the same noise. If it doesn't ask them why.

As for the tail lights, what do you mean by the "middle tail light"?

If you get the chance please update your profile with the year and model of your Kodiaq. This will help us to answer your questions i.e. if your Kodiaq has the low functionality or high functionality rear LED lights...

The lower level Kodiaq's are fitted with 'low functionality' rear lights, this inner LED strip is only fitted on Kodiaq's with the 'high functionality' rear lights...

Thx for answer.

yep I got  'lowfunctionality' rear lights, And want to know how much and how hard is it change it to the 'high functionality' rear lights to get full LED stripe not.

I think the noise you are hearing is the ABS self testing.

The high functionality rear lights also benefit from a second LED reverse light (one on each side), the low functionality rear lights strangely only get a single reverse light (which in the UK is on the wrong side, the offside).

So, if you were to source a pair of high functionality inner light clusters, they should be a direct fitment (physically), it is possible the wiring connectors might be slightly different to accommodate the extra outputs for the inner tail light strips and reverse light, but I'd hope not?

Chances are you then might need to code them using OBDeleven or VCDS etc.

The best thing to do is buy a pair and fit them, you might get lucky. If they don't work then return them. Just check with the seller first that they'll accept returns.

They aren't cheap though, over £200 for the pair. Ring your local Skoda dealer first, they often aren't as expensive as you might think...

The problem here is that none of these listings mention low or high functionality, I'm guessing the sellers have no idea which version it is they're selling. It would be annoying if you ended up buying the same light clusters that you have already!
