Automatic Wipers retrofit?

Featured Replies

My SE L has Automatic Headlights, how can i tell if it would be possible to enable or implement Automatic Wipers?

My indicator stalk is just the standard wiper one, no automatic setting.

I assumed the sensor is built into the auto-dimming mirror along with the sensor for the headlights?

Once you enable auto wipers the intermittent position becomes the auto position and the switch on top becomes sensitivity, no need to change stalk.

I did the same with my old Superb

I'm guessing it's a VCDS tweak? I see no option for the auto wipers in the menus.

Yea you will need VCDS.

There is an owners map on here if you want to find somebody near by. I’m not that far away from Sheffield if you are struggling

as far as I know, the difference is a light sensor and a light-rain sensor, coding is not enough if there is no rain sensor in the car

sorry for my english

Yes, you need a rain light sensor. For auto lights without the RLS there is a different light sensor. I heard that was in the dash but I don't know for sure. The RLS is fixed to the glass of the screen behind the mirror. I don't think there's anything there if you have just auto lights, but I could be mistaken.

I've checked this on my car, i have a different, light-only sensor. It looks similar to the Rain+Light sensor but with only a single dot in the center.

Unless i can somehow get hold of one of those easy. I'll give it a miss for the time being.
