Sat Nav Card

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2017 Suberb.

The car has 2x SD slots but there is no card in either.

The Nav works but is out of date and I want to update it. I have found the update portal and the latest map.

Do I need to buy a Skoda card like this

Or will any card work and accept the maps.

TIA

You presumably have a Columbus which only requires a standard usb drive to copy the files over to it's inbuilt hard drive.

Thanks

I'm sure what type it is. It's an SEL Executive.

Is this via the USB port in the centre console?

USB stick will work, formatted to FAT 32. I use an ordinary  32 GB SD card class 10 and formatted to FAT 32. The download is circa 26 GB. Follow the instructions on the portal. If you're using Windows 10 it's pretty straightforward, and there's tips on here if you get stuck.

Ok thanks I have ordered a 5.99 card.

Don't forget to unzip the download and transfer the contents to the SD card. From memory there should be two folders and one or two ordinary files in the root directory of the SD card

Right the download and unzipping worked and it's on the SD card.

When you try to update the map, it says it can't find a suitable map or software.

Any ideas please?

did you do the work on a MAC, they put odd files on the card you are best doing it on a WIN machine.

you show your location as High Peak not a clue where that is, if you are near Wiltshire happy to assist as updated mine to the 2020 maps and still have the update on a card.

Hi,

took me a bit of looking until I noticed that you have the files in a sub-directory. The files need to be in the root of the USB, yours are in a sub-directory called HIGH12_P184_EU_2020 if you do a cut and copy on the files i the sub-directory to the root then delete the sub-directory then try in the car all should be good. If this does not make sense send me a PM and I will give you my number and I will talk you through it 🙂

Just out of interest do the updates stop when the warranty ends?

Hello all,

I had this problem using windows 10 . First go to the Skoda update portal and put your VIN no into the box. Follow instructions.  use a class 10 32Gb SD card and Format to NFTS. Mine would not work on FAT 32. down load the Zip file to your download file on windows, about 2hrs 15 mins down load, then unpack to your SD card. It will unzip automatically if using the latest version of windows. no need for a Zip file unloader. Then put SD card into either of the SD lots in the glove box and go to the cog wheel in the infotainment screen and go to map updates select and wait. If it finds the SD  it will take about 40 mins down load.

I hope this helps

Any card with enough capacity will work.

i believe the updates just over 20GB from memory so you need a 32gb card.

I couldn't do it with mine.

Blimey this would probably take about 3 hours, if it worked.

I would need to put a charger on.
