Just driven the car today (Octavia III VRS TDI) and found the parking brake warning kept bonging even though it was released. It seems like the lever is not fully down, if I push down on it, it will go down about an inch and then spring back up.

Anyone had this before, or got any suggestions before I take it to a garage to look at?

Did you ever get anywhere with this? would be great to know what it was as my car has just started doing this today, sounds exactly the same!

My Octavia has started doing the same thing.

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to adjust the sensor detection point or the spring height?

The handbrake itself is still working fine.

I found this on Reddit/YouTube which shows how to adjust the handbrake cable.

The automatic adjustment (Brakes on & Pull Up the Handbrake doesnt seem to work for me).

This is the automatic adjustment procedure. Doesnt seem to do anything on my car at the moment,
I will try the manual adjustment on my day off.

I have adjusted by handbrake on my car using the instructions in this video.

Its very simple to do & after only a few quarter turns the slack/spring is taken out of the handbrake & it stay firmly down when released.
