Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo 65 plate Start/stop issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I have been experiencing issues with my  diesel Fabia shuddering and failing to engage the start/stop feature intermittently (please see YouTube link) if anyone can offer any advice or a solution I would be very grateful.

I have contacted Skoda to see if they can diagnose the issue but they want £97 an hour even though I reported the daily whilst it was in warranty...https://youtu.be/3zXBvlyjmOk

Well, it does not seem very happy about starting, so if you can't sort that out, I'd head for somewhere that can sort it out for you to diagnose what is wrong - and then maybe even get the not working stop/start looked at, though that stopping working could be down to the cold weather and how that car is being used.

All I can offer for you to check, as I don't know how technically competent you are is - look at the battery negative connection, there should be a small lead plugged into a dongle that is bolted to that battery post, if it has been unplugged, maybe at service time for instance, if that small lead is unplugged auto stop/start gets inhibited.
