Symphony radio & bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi, Has anyone retrofitted bluetooth to the Symphony radio CD so you can stream music from an Android phone?

Many thanks!

I can't imagine how you'd do that since there's no auxiliary input for the bluetooth module to use.

There's no simple solution for the Symphony. It was designed when Bluetooth wasn't around. Its phone integration requires a wired add-on phone kit and is mono only. Can get aux-in adapters or USB adapters to spoof the CD changer interface but these days, just buy a JVC or similar "Mechless" headunit. It's all in the chips and the software in a tiny inexpensive unit.

When I bought my Fabia it had a gadget taking power from the aux power/cig lighter that transmitted from a phone to the Symphony,  As I don't ever have music in the car I gave it away. The radio is still tuned to it on one of the buttons. I assume it was a low power FM transmitter

That's what I did, but that was to give me a line in for an iPod Classic.  Not sure if it will allow you to add BT capability.  But it will allow you to stick a 3.5mm jack into the phone's headphone socket.

This is what I use works a treat.

Buy an FM Transmitter, set frequency to 108 station 6 - Bluetooth turned on phone, Spotify instantly, whilst keeping OEM head unit - all for £5
