Better start installing solar panels on your roof then and use your own electric if you have that 2035 feeling already. Alternatively get it remapped and then it will surprise the slower Tesla's for a lot less cash than trading your Postman Pat Wagon in. You know it makes more sense.

have to say I’ve never experienced anything like it. It was staggering. I can’t imagine any amount of remapping making our cars feel like that. I’m still laughing about it now. I’ve had fast cars and driven fast cars... Astons and Lambos ... That Tesla acceleration was simply astounding.

Nick when I first read your thread title I thought you were trying to compare a 276bhp Superb to a really fast 272 hatch and a wave of jealousy (or lack of torque) had swept over you.

well I was going to go down the road of a baby remap like you but I’ve just ordered a crate Supercharged LT5 that I’m going to stick in for the summer. I’ll put the EA triple 8 back in for the winter though ....

Sounds like your copying VW's bright idea a few years ago to make a 500bhp Golf by fitting two VR6 engines, one up front and one in the boot with 2 gearboxes. It was great in a straight line but a tad oversteery in the corners. I can pop upto Yorkshire if you want to try before you buy.

Yeah but I think you are missing my light hearted point. I enjoyed the ride and the amazing performance. I'm not bothered about how much the things cost ! I just wanted to impart to others the colossal performance and how I felt having never experienced it before.

True but I have no interest in the Tesla.... If my Mrs ever gave me the nod ( no chance ) it would be a Jag F-Type SVR.

They are amazingly quick but the quality of parts, paint, fit and finish leave a lot to be desired (I had a reservation for one). 
 

Too much of a downgrade from my L&K (performance aside)

A guy at work has one....well actually we think he has 2. After a few days ownership he didn’t think something was right. Turns out when he had it inspected it had been in a crash and had been shoddily repaired with donor parts from another F type from the dealer 🤣

Can I have it cheap then please ?

The Panamera hybrid turbo S is the one I’d go for.  More reliable and though slower on paper in the real world it’s beat the Tesla in every comparison I’ve seen/read. 

 

I hope they do an ‘awful green caliper delete’ option though 🤔

He got it sorted in the end. The dozy twunts even left all the hand drawn white marker arrows on the underside, indicating areas of damage. 

 

It is lufly though. Cracking shade of orange. The exhaust note made me soil myself 🤭😊

I can see it now. Everyone has an electric car, but they're all parked up doing nothing because there's no electricity left to charge them.

I've an idea. Re-open the mines to dig for coal, to create more electricity.

But what about the environment?

I don't care is my answer.

And if the governments around the world really cared, we'd all go back to the horse and cart, and tax those instead.

Alton Towers does that for me and it's much cheaper.

I was thinking of changing my silver/rust caliper colour to Kermit Green. Do you think that would clash with the Black Magic paint?
