Access to rear sensors

Featured Replies

Can anybody advise me how to gain access to the rear parking sensors on a superb twin hatch , is the lower spoiler / trim where the sensors are fitted removable without taking the whole bumper off , any advise would be greatly  appreciated before I attempt & damage anything 👍

Drop the bumper.

many thanks for the response
So you are saying the whole bumper needs to come off , as the epc I use @ work shows the lower  spoiler that the sensors are fitted in as a separate part dependant on spec of car , but does not show how it is secured to the main part of the bumper , the last thing I want to do is remove the whole bumper just to re secure a sensor if I don't have to or try to separate  the 2 parts & cause damage

Looking at the repair manual, it suggests that you can just undo the screws holding the bottom of the bumper underneath the car and bend it down gently for access to the sensors. I'd suggest having the car jacked up to do this.

All sorted 👍

took out the 4 screws on the underside of the bumper at the back & was able  to unclip the spoiler that the sensors are fitted to enough to gain access  to the sensor & reclipped  it into  the housing , looks like the spoiler just clips into the main bumper so I would say easily fully removed if needed to be , thanks for the advice Chimaera , again a forum member that  comes to the rescue of another 👍👍👍
