'07 1.9tdi Ambiente BXE unlock all doors

Featured Replies

Currently unlock from the button only opens the driver's door and double press does nothing. Unlocking all doors needs a press of the button on the central trim between the handbrake and gear lever.

Is there any way without using VCDS or equivalent to enable the double press unlock all?

The car doesn't have a Maxidot display - see below (don't know its official name).

Double press should unlock all doors if a single press doesn't, I believe this would be set from factory.

Seems a little weird as you say single press works fine....

Have you tried the key in the door??? A double twist should unlock all doors (I think) and may give more of an indication where the fault lies

Is the car new to you??? has the double press worked before for you???

BTW the double press needs to be done quickly.

Cheers for the helpful comments.  Car is not new to us but newly back on the road seeing as we bought it with a bruised nose, now spiffingly restored :)

I retried the double press (as we have another O2 I'm familiar with the appropriate pace) - no joy; key in lock, lock twice, unlock twice - no joy; relock with button. go away and drink coffee then go back to alarm sounding; open and firmly reclose doors; button lock; double button unlock and behold! all doors open!  T'is a mackerel, to be sure :)

I suspect sticky micro switches as the car had been standing for a while whilst being repaired (see posts to follow about sticky gear selection) so we'll just have to see how it goes.

On a related note, can one set the confidence bleep for lock/unlock without VCDS etc.?

I suspect the key in the lock has reset the opening action on the fob............cool.

btw, you ain't gonna set much (anything) without maxidot or VCDS etc, I think....but glad you got the opening sorted.
