vRS Estate rear bumper

Featured Replies

Hi folks I have a 2014 tdi vRS estate.

Have a small ‘crease’ in the rear bumper.
It’s nothing major but I’m not sure how well a repair will be able to ‘hide it’ / mask it.

Worst case scenario I’ll replace the rear bumper which after a quick inspection doesn’t look like a massive job. Even the parking sensors don’t seem to be a massive issue.

My question to your collective knowledge is:

What rear bumpers have I got to choose from?
Are the hatch and estate bumpers the same?
Are the VRS bumpers any different to the other models of the same age?
Did the facelift alter the rear bumper at all?

My current bumper has the red reflective strip across it, am I correct in saying that is an option or was it a standard strip on all vRS models?

Thanks very much in advance to anyone who has any information.

cheers

I presume the estate bumper is different to the hatch as the diffusers I've been looking at are a few quid north for the estate variant.

In terms of the red strip, it's standard on the VRS, other models just have 1/4ish of the way across from either side. I guess any estate bumper would fit however the outlets for 2-exhaust tips (real and faux) will not be present on any other grade except VRS.

I have a 2014 vrs estate. Someone tapped into me last year leaving a crease. Skoda approved bodyshop wouldnt even entertain a repair (even when they thought it was a private job). Went through insurance in the end, total bill was £1500

Take it to a decent bodyshop for repair ,i had a hole in the rear bumper of my previous car ,an pug rcz it was repaired for £100 quid and there was no way you could tell it had been damaged at all ,stuff like this is easy to repair

You haven’t included a picture - but before you try too much ........ try pouring a boiling kettle of water over it. It “may” improve it before looking at repairs, it may even fix it such that nothing is needed. I’ve seen some miraculous improvements from this trick - including when I did it to the wife’s  BMW !
