After looking on Briskoda at a few oil threads i made a little list of 4 or 5 oils i thought would be easy to get. These included:

esso

shell

castrol

BP Special

and some other ones

I headed down to the BP garage but they had no oil for the fabia Vrs, same story at the shell garage and esso.

I then went to Halfords and i found one !!! Castrol Edge Turbo diesel 5w-40 505 01 approval for VW engines including PD engines (fully synthetic)

i'm sure the castrol oil at the correct VW spec will be OK for your car , i use FORDs own oil for the Galaxy thats the correct spec and not encountered any problems

VRStu, the castrol EDGE is not listed on your site like it isnt on here (i could not find it if it was) but it says on it for VW PD turbo diesel engines and all the numbers match up.

oil specification is correct and castrol are a good name so i wouldn't hesitate in using the oil you bought to top up the level
