After looking on Briskoda at a few oil threads i made a little list of 4 or 5 oils i thought would be easy to get. These included:

esso

shell

castrol

BP Special

and some other ones

I headed down to the BP garage but they had no oil for the fabia Vrs, same story at the shell garage and esso.

I then went to Halfords and i found one !!!:thumbup: Castrol Edge Turbo diesel 5w-40 505 01 approval for VW engines including PD engines (fully synthetic)

I bought 1 litre for

i'm sure the castrol oil at the correct VW spec will be OK for your car , i use FORDs own oil for the Galaxy thats the correct spec and not encountered any problems

oil specification is correct and castrol are a good name so i wouldn't hesitate in using the oil you bought to top up the level

My VRS is on 48,000 miles now ( 04 plate ) used millers pd semi -synthetic ,on every service, not a problem and conforms to all the manufacturers specs

Im using Mobil 1 synth s special v and i think it's great, almost 40k miles and minimal oil consumption. It's arround 7£/liter
