I have stored a lot of radio stations and placed my favourites numbered 1 to 10 in their slots on the touchscreen. However when I change channel using steering wheel controls, it doesn't follow this order. So I have to scroll through a few channels before I get to favourite number 2,and scroll through more to get to number 3 etc. 

Is there a setting whereby it will follow my favourites stored on touchscreen? 

I’m at work at the moment so can’t check but I think if you go to radio and select the settings button, you can change the setting for “Arrow buttons”. It sounds like you have station list selected. If you change to Preset list it should go through your stored stations.
