The 55 plate mkii elegance has finally  got beyond fixing so have just got a mkiii se business (ex lease I guess)...

 

The "new to me" motor only has a spare wheel kit...

 

Will the spare from the mkii fit the mkiii hub? The tyres are the same size 205 55 16 (I think) 

 

I reckon the wheel should fit but why guess when I can ask the experts? 

yes, the Octavia mk2 spare will fit your mk3. 

Thanks for that - I won't be leaving the spare in the old car when I hand it in tomorrow (they said take anything you want...) 

Good move, I'm never comfortable without a spare wheel onboard - the "spare in a can" can be very hit or miss, plus a lot of tyre fitters won't touch a tyre once that has been done = New Tyre!
