Passenger side exterior front door handle problom?

Featured Replies

Just had the same thing on my 2016 Mk III Superb, with the aid of the pics and the tent peg tool (now living in my glovebox!) to pull the plastic locking clip out, it  was sorted. You need to be careful when putting the door handle back that you engage the mechanism inside the door, the first time I slid it in, it did not engage and was not going to open anything despite the handle moving freely. Another go, keeping the handle closer to the door, and it engaged properly. You can check it (Carefully!) before putting back the fixed part at the back of the handle.  Many thanks to the contributors who worked this out !

Mine had this problem a few years ago. Followed the instructions for removing the handle and by the use of some boiling water in a shallow bowl slowly bent the plastic hook bit back to its original position and not had any problem since then.

No adjusting of anything else in the lock/handle mechanism
