I know 😔

You know what though, I don't mind. They are obviously not a 2014 set of wheels so I guess the green badges are a little more 'period correct' ?!

It works in my head 😄🤔

Little before and after with 10mm spacers - subtle but takes the ET to a stock(ish) 44.

They look like 1K0601025AN alloy rims. Specification is 7Jx17 ET54

Standard Skoda Superb MK2 17" alloy rims are 7.5Jx17 ET49 with 225/45R17 tyres.

6.5Jx17 ET38 steel rims from the Skoda Kodiaq would also fit with 205/50R17 tyres.

I would have gone for 205/55R16 tyres on standard 6Jx15 ET50 steel rims for the extra comfort and more mpg.

Excellent spot. I was actually running the bog standard 'spectrum' wheels 7j 16 205 55 16, and will continue to use them as my winter set.

They were definitely more fuel efficient but surprisingly I haven't noticed a difference in comfort. Handling has improved on this set too, no doubt.

I've gone with my heart rather than my head on these.

I'm not surprised that you didn't notice a difference in comfort running 205/55R16 tyres on 7J rims, as the wide 7J rims stretch the sidewalls far more than a 6J rim. I've noticed an improvement in comfort by going down just 0.5" in rim width, let alone 1" down in rim width.

The Skoda Superb MK2 came with two different specification rims for the 205/55R16 tyres. 6Jx16 ET50 and 7Jx16 ET45. If you try both rims, I think you would notice a big improvement to ride comfort by using the narrower 6J rims instead of the wider 7J rims.

The narrower rims also provide extra protection from kerbing damage, as the tyre sidewalls bulge out more on the narrower rims.
