Replacement Injector for 1.6 TDI

Featured Replies

Hi everyone Thanks for the add. I have been using this forum for a while so thought I’d better become a full member. My car is a 1.6 TDI and has done 43k miles. It has had to have two injectors replaced. The first, at 30k was done under warranty and cost over £700. When another went at 42k I found a replacement Siemens unit for £276 with £30 surcharge. (ie £246 once original unit taken to the motor factor) PF Jones in Wigan were the people I dealt with and I can highly recommend them

Is it common for the injectors on the 1.6 tdi

Engines to go? I picked up a 2012 Fabia Monte Carlo last month and just want to know if I should be readying myself to replace them.

If it’s had the emissions update then they are known to

Don't know if mine had the emissions update,

Would I be able to ring the local dealer and find out?

I think you’re ok it’s the earlier version that has the problem I’ll find the engine code when I can

They all have the same codes.

All 1.6TDI's are CAYC. If you've had the emissions update I would be chasing skoda once this is over to pay for new injectors on their 2 years goodwill gesture warranty.

Thanks for your help. Do you know which version has the problem with the injectors please? Mine is an early 2011 so well out of guarantee. It only had 30k when the first injector went. I got the car secondhand from Arnold Clark and in all fairness they were spot on and got the car fixed by a Skoda garage to the tune of £700 plus. As far S I’m aware it’s the insulation’s within the injector that breaks down (just repeating what I’ve been told) These injectors were only fitted to the Mk 2 1.6 TDI as far as I’m aware. I’d appreciate your input as it sounds like you know far more than I do and perhaps we can help with the original question. Just as a side note, I have a car that I’m unable to rely on. I’ve got breakdown cover but that’s not the point. I can’t afford to replace the other two injectors even at the £265 cost each which is far less than the dealerships price.
