Shock Absorber - What's This Plastic Bit ?

Had my Superb III Estate jacked up yesterday to remove the wheels. This obviously extended the rear shock absorber more than normal and I was wondering what the black plastic "frame" around the upper part of the shock absorber was (see photo) ?

It looks like it's meant to be there but I hadn't seen anything like that on a shock absorber before. Any insights, anyone ?

Hi, I have a new Skoda Superb Mk4 (2026, MIB4 infotainment, software version 2768). Today, the car went offline in MySkoda, and the globe icon in the infotainment turned grey. Important detail: The car is usually parked in underground level -2 parking, where the mobile signal is extremely weak or nonexistent. After taking the car outside and driving it for a while, it still remained offline. Current symptoms: grey globe icon remote services unavailable car shown offline in app no SOS/eCal

I'm off the back of a long ish drive and about 5 mins before I arrived, the car developed a boost leak (I think). Before anyone says search, I've done searching, plenty of it. Not really found anything specific to the greenline though and what I can potentially do. The car feels underpowered (more so than usual). Hi everyone, I have a Skoda Fabia with a 1.2 AZQ engine. I have a warm running issue - the car misfires/stutters when fully warm. The intake air temperature (IAT) reads around 80°C when the problem occurs. When I unplug the EGR connector the car runs perfectly and IAT drops to around 30°C. Howdy folks. Late 2015 model 150bhp 2.0tdi no ad blue. If I push on over 3k rpm the car feels like its running out of steam. Hi again. The service light won't reset using the press the trip method ,also the aircon won't blow out of the face vents despite recalibrating (might be another fault I guess) so Im thinking I'll need to reset the service light with a diagnostic tool Which one though?
