Superb 2.0TSI 280hp Spark Plugs and Coil Packs

Featured Replies

Ok, so my MY17 ŠKODA Superb 206TSI 4x4 is coming up for its 3yr / 45,000kms service in late May (note: I have less than 30,000kms on the car).

As per the ŠKODA service schedule, Spark Plugs are due to be replaced at 4yrs / 60,000kms.

As a preventative measure (and merely looking for something to do as I have no issues with the vehicle), I was looking to get these replaced at my upcoming service.

Spark Plug Part No: 06K905601B.

Coil Pack Part No: 06J905110K (Superceeds to Part No: 06J905110N from 01/03/2019).

Is this a complete waste of time? Should I just wait for the 4yr / 60,000kms Service?

Or could a change be good for the engine and help maintain that "new car" feel a little longer.

What are your thoughts guys...

sparks replaced on 60k Km to 06K905611C (dealer choice)

now 83k Km on the clock

as potential next Coil Pack i have saved this part number

06H509110L - Red Ignition Coil Pack Set for 1.8T / 2.0T EA888 Gen3

but have no idea when i have and will replace them

It’s not going to harm but if you’re getting the car serviced annually anyway then why not wait for the 4th service? It’s not like you’ll need to make separate bookings for the work.

I only ever bring scheduled maintenance forward if it means saving myself a dealer visit outside of regular servicing

Would be keen to understand the difference in the Spark Plug part numbers...

Is it a cooler plug, or just a different revision from the 06K905601B?

Thanks for your input!
