Juddering Windscreen Wipers

Featured Replies

Does anyone else suffer with a juddering windscreen wiper on the driver’s side.  The dealer changed the wiper last week but still the same. I have tried vinegar, neat screen wash and methylated spirit on the wiper and screen in case any wax etc had been left on but to no avail.

Over time it becomes an annoyance and a distraction any suggestions please?

Thanks Jim I’ll have a word at the garage

You don't park anywhere near trees, workshops or a railway line et al?

I have trees at one end of the carport and within a short period of time after cleaning the car the windscreen is covered in tree sap.

I used to keep a spray bottle of Autoglym Fast Glass handy to give the windscreen a quick spritz to help the windscreen wipers do their stuff.

No no trees where I park might try the Fast Glass though

TRy some RainX windscreen washer fluid additive - works for me.

The other thing is:  Put the wind screen wipers into Service Mode (Ignition on (for 4 secs), Ignition off and within 10 secs, push down once on the demist function) - and then wipe the blades down with a microfibre cloth and get all the muck off - then clean your windscreen wiper with either AutoGym Fast Glass or RainX cleaner.

Tried the Rain X spray bt still the same so couldn't be a***d to back the dealer and got a Bosch blade £15.59 half price special offer with a 5L of screen wash thrown in.  Fitted today seems much better but haven't drove in any rain yet.  Looking closely at the wiper the pressure on the screen on the offside seems much less than on the opposite side, could be a slight design fault.

Thanks for all your help
