A couple of times I’ve had an SOS Emergency Call Activated message appear for a moment then disappear. No call has been made. Anyone else had this? I’ve previously had the SOS Emergency Call Restricted message which cleared itself.

Yes; its a firmware bug; I had the same problem on my 2018 Octavia VRS TDI; even worse, I got a U1195 unexplained error which put the vehcile into Limp mode.

 

ECU + MI2 Firmware update from dealer fixed the fault.  Known issue.
