Hi All,

Got a Black Octavia 1.8T. It runs well however it has a thirst for oil. I have checked for oil leaks and have found none.

Checked the coolant as well. I doesn't appear to be burning oil.

Any thoughts as to the probable cause?

Some more info on the car would be useful. What is the mileage, what oil are you using, and do you know how many miles the car is doing per litre of oil used?

It has done 90k mile. It was serviced in February and the oil light came on a couple of days ago. I have filled it with 5W - 40 and have begun to monitor its consumption. I have checked underneath, the coolant, I had a mate follow me to see it it was smoking.

Hello! With the Heat we are experiencing in these days in Italy (more than 30º) I decided to use the the aircon, as last Summer it was really wonderful BUT with my surprise it doesn’t work! I thought there was no gas in the tank but test said there was; I also put new from the beginning but nothing changed: Skoda mechanic told me he doesn’t hear the compressor starting. I have just found a leak on my front RH shock absorber. The car is fitted with DCC, so I am looking at replacing it with the Monroe "aftermarket parts" and also replacing the protection kits and top mounts while I am at it. Does anybody know what the correct bump stop length is for the iV, or how I can find out?

Hoping to purchase a 2.0l TSi Sportline/Laurin & Klement variant at some point soon. My budget may result in me seeking out a vehicle with 95K onwards on the clock. I’ll be only considering something with a full comprehensive service history. My understanding is that I shouldn’t worry about cam chain tensioners as they go on and on. But do they? So is there anything I should really looking out for? Thanks
