Lumpy on acceleration when cold

Featured Replies

In my 2014 Škoda superb 2.0 tdi 140 I’m suffering with A lumpy/lagging issue On acceleration when cold, it normally sorts itself out after a mile or 2 of driving, I’m not getting any fault codes popping up, anyone had similar issues or know what values to check on a vcds

( it’s been happening since i done a service on the car, genuine parts where purchased from TPS, fuel filter wasn’t the same as the spurious one that was already in there )

thanks Kieran

What's a spurious fuel filter, are you saying it wasn't the correct one?

Not a genuine part maybe oem but it wasn’t a Vag part

If it only started immediately after the service it'll be worth checking back on everything you've changed.

What did you change?

Oil and oil filter. Is the oil filler cap and dipstick tight / seated correctly? Is the oil filter housing tight and torqued correctly? Did you replace both seals on the stem, were they seated correctly?

Air filter. Was there any debris in the filter box, did you refit the grid under the filter? Did the filter seat nice and tightly? Have you tightened all the screws, a few are easy to miss. Did you dislodge any hoses or clips?

Fuel filter. Did you replace the seal on the lid? Did you bend the lid when removing, did you tighten the bolts opposite to opposite, did you refill the fuel filter housing after inserting the new filter, did you prime the pump to remove any air?

Non-genuine parts are generally OK, Skoda filters are normally the exact same as the MANN filters from Eurocarparts.

Good morning, i have the same issue and have done for a while. Once the car reaches 9O o it’s fine

Have you found any solution? I have exactly the same problem with my 140hp Tdi: rough running, "missfiring" first 2km after morning start. Regardless of temperature.

Mine is fine on idle wouldn’t know there was an issue, only on acceleration,

im going to give the car another service and check all seals are correct and see how I go from there

Hi mine also is fine at tick over,  once it warms up  fingers crossed don’t have a issue after
