Another Electric Windows problem.

Featured Replies

Hello,

On my roomie, 2007 1.9TDI, both electric windows have stopped working.

Looking through the forum posts for help I checked out the driver’s door wiring loom.

A friend, who has a body shop, has helped me out. On inspection of the wiring loom we could see that many wires were close to breaking or had broken.

A replacement wiring loom was purchased and installed but the windows still do not work. The fuses have been replaced as well as the switch in the driver’s door arm rest.

Can anyone suggest what else mighty be causing the windows not to operate.

Thanks

Mikebs

Dont want to state the obvious but did you check the passenger door loom too as this was my issue.

Because both windows are affected, my guess would be the control unit in the drivers door has failed.

Hello Roomyster,

that's a good point, I will check it out.

joeski -where is the control unit in the door, what would I be looking for.

Thanks

Control unit is built into the drivers door electric motor in the door
