Hi. Can anyone tell me of the highlighted plate is clued on or what? Want to remove to see if there is much rust under there now that i am removing the rust below.

Well no, but I'd be most surprised if there isn't rust under that kick plate based on your photo.

Another MkII life which will potentially be ended early, all because Skoda chose not to protect the full height of the sill...

Yeah, the side i took photo of is the worst. The other side is starting to show small bubbles. So have to take both sides. Joy

I'd to get both my sills done by a local paint shop along with the bottom of the passenger side doors, front door was by far the worst, and I'd a bad chip of rust on the driver's side similar to the area at your kick plate which luckily extend much further than you could see once the plate was taken off .... The surface rust on both sills was much worse than it first appeared and extended all the way to the back doors ....
