Dragon TDi Tuning Box

Featured Replies

Took mine out last week when my car went in for a service and kept it off until this afternoon, the difference is amazing!

I had alot of problems with the first digital box I bought off them as my '04 Octy kept throwing faults up straight away but they couldn't have been more helpful (Thumbs up to Ade@Dragon).

They got me a different box and luckily for me, I live about 3 miles away from them so I was able to go there in person to get it sorted.

I dont know what sort of power I get from the box but I could easily pull away from a Golf 2.0TDI sitting up my a$$ on the M25............ with a large set of ladders on the roof and a boot full fo heavy tools and equipment. That was one very annoyed rep.

When the box is disconnected, the car feels very underpowered in comparison.

:D:D:D:thumbup:

The missus has ordered mine now :D

Not allowed it till my birthday on the 28th though :thumbdwn:

Good man!

Enjoy!

Don't forget the usual stuff about cambelts, insurance and the like.

By all accounts, the one I have is compatible with the 1.9 AND 2.0 TDI's so it will be going on the new motor at some point in the future.

ummm... cambelts? whats this then?

...anything else other than that i might not know about?

If you put a tuning box on the car you can put more stress on the cambelt which is responsible for keeping the valves from hitting the pistons :P . You should always make sure your cambelt is in good nick, make sure it's changed either on time or slightly before it's due.

If it snaps it will cost you a damned sight more than a 200 quid tuning box.

cheers :) something i'll bear in mind :)

Presumably keeping it serviced in line with manufacturer would be fine though?

I would have thought so - the manufacturer will have built in tolerances for it's components (with the exception of seat bases ;)) and the tuning box is only increasing power output by 20-30bhp.
