Those 2 Subaru's on Fifth Gear

Featured Replies

For some bizarre reason, I prefer the Forester over the Impreza. :o

Maybe it's because it's a bit of a "Q" car.

Which one do you prefer?

I like the Forester as well - one of our bosses at work has one, it looks quite nice in the flesh.

I see there are some cracking deals on the new 2.5 wrx atm. A local car supermarket has them for £17k'ish iirc and Subaru themselves are offering 5 years servicing and warranty aswell....... rather tempting.

Forrester - that new Impreza just looks gross!

Chap at work traded in his classic shape Impreza for a new STi Forester from Litchfield Imports which has been "lightly tweaked". Excellent q car and very very fast

What version was the one tested on Fifth Gear?

A believe it was only available as a grey import.

Down in Wiltshire, used to be scooby dealers before going the import route, really know there stuff.

Forester. It's much more practical, and as said, a great Q car.

Insurance for either would be sky-high though (based on recent quotes for a wrx) and running costs for either are shocking, mpg in particular (got my sensible hat on today)

I'd go for the forester as well, and yes it was a grey import, the sti i believe....

Running costs aren't really any more shocking than for other 300bhp cars. My old Scooby used to get 25-30mpg during normal everyday thrashing and servicing is every 10k miles I believe :D

 :P

Yeah gotta be the forrester for me

I like the new impreza :o looks alot better than the old bugeyed version!

The Legacy is the hottest looking Subaru. My friend just bought the new model, and man, it's hot! Nice paint job, low with the 3.0 engine, and when you start the car, all the needles in the instrument panel hit max and the lights flash and the come down again!

Bloomin hell, thats good mpg, I didnt even get that in my old 1.6 GL Impreza! Defo have the Forester over the new Scoob, not keen on the Impreza front end, Forester looks chunky! Litchfield Imports do them, think there was an article in Evo a few months ago about them...

For pure driving fun I'd get the impreza, for the adjustable diff alone. It's nice to have the option for most power put to rear wheels. The forester seemed like fun also.. mainly because I bet people won't believe a brick like that could handle properly, yet it did and even almost kept up with the STI!! End of the day I'd choose legacy over any of those. The car has great feel of quality and the looks are just superb.
