Second Service & DSG & Haldex Oil Change

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Long time, no post...

Just had the car in for it’s second service at 36k (it’s on variable servicing), so had the DSG oil & filter change, along with Haldex oil.

I was advised that the Haldex is 3 years, rather than mileage based, but I’d rather the keep the DSG & Haldex changes done at the same time.

It’s nice to get the car back from a service and notice a difference, it’s so much quieter and feels more responsive ...I hadn’t even noticed any additional noise from the drive train or it feeling sluggish!

Ever since I’ve owned it, there’s been an odd, quiet, almost electronic “woo” noise when I put my foot on the accelerator, which I thought was just a trait of the car - it didn’t change pitch with speed, so wasn’t concerned and never mentioned it to the garage; that’s gone too!

Very pleased, and great service again from Fish Brothers in Swindon.

Now time to carry on with Dynamatting the interior, as we’ve got good weather!

Stay safe,

Nick

Good call - especially the Haldex.  If you are super-obsessive, then the rear diff oil too !  I found the gearbox and haldex system needed an oil change around 30k miles.

D’oh! I didn’t think about the rear diff, but would have had that done too!

It’s due 1st MoT & brake fluid change in July, so I can get it done then, thanks!

I am super-obsessive, and this car’s a keeper, so want it running well for a few years.

Cheers,

Nick

The DSG Service Guidelines Schedule is 40,000 miles,  Audi say 38,000 miles for what is a DSG but called a s-tronic!

The Haldex is 3 years, but some say 30,000 miles, owners need to make up there mind.

As to the rear diff, even front diffs.   There are times that have been posted in threads on here where Dealership staff or DIY'ers have messed up doing the Rear Diff oil change.

Be sure if getting that done that the 'professional' doing it knows there ar53 from there elbow or what drain / fill hole is what.

As it is the rear Diff oil should not require changing as regularly as the DSG or Haldex, well that depends on use, environment, if wading etc.
