Octavia RHD fusebox

Featured Replies

I have a dead lighter/power socket.

I suspect it is a blown fuse.

Can anyone enlighten me how I get the glove box out?

I know that you poke a screwdriver through one of the holes in the end panel but I do not know for certain which one it is!

I have checked the manual and watch a couple of you tube videos but I am still flummoxed.

The Skoda garage is closed. Without the ciggie lighter socket  I cannot charge my phone and it might just be vital.

It’s behind the glovebox and a royal pain in the arse to get to. You have to remove the glove box to get to it and that’s not really the difficult bit. Getting it back in is a pain. You will need a little screwdriver of some sort. Either that or a small child with small fingers. They may not get them back tho haha.
There is a toothed bracket on the passenger side door side that needs turning so it frees off. The glove box will then lift up and out. It’s quite tight. Once it’s out you’ll see the fuse box. Getting it back in is classic Haynes manual ‘refitting is the reversal of removal’ however getting the bracket lined up and locked in is the tricky part.

This is precisely why I haven;t attempted to hard wire in a dash cam. Wayyyy to much trouble to do.

I found the box easy to remove but putting back was a pain at first.

This is made much easier if you remove the panel at side of dash and use a screwdriver to lift the closing mech back into place.
