Columbus Bluetooth Setup

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

New Skoda owner here from Australia!

I'm trying to set up the bluetooth on my Columbus radio, but it appears I don't have the bluetooth module in my 2010 VRS.

I have done all the things I have read on here like checking under the drivers seat for a module, checking to see what it does when I press the phone button (just mutes).  I have the white MFD screen.

I have the Columbus head unit model no 3T0035680A.

And I have had a look under the drivers seat, there's this little flap in the carpet, but I can't seem to see any box-y things that look like any of the modules that I have seen on the net.  There is a cable that runs into that area with the following numbers on it:

1Z0365DL

SZ9 SEBN-BG

130 971 385 DL 265 (I think I couldn't really get a proper look at it)

1AAZ0385OLA

Ltgs.Sitz Sitzzwanno

019 167 A

13.01.2010 12.38

I know I will need to buy a module and a loom.  But what module and loom will I need to buy?

Do you have a maxidot insturment cluster installed as the premium BT modules require one.

Super easy to check, the cluster will display an outline of the car showing exactly which doors are open. A standard, non-maxidot cluster just has a little red light to warn you that doors are open.

Also, what phone are you planning to pair with your car? Some older premium BT modules only support rSAP which isn't supported by iPhones and various other makes/models too.

That being said, you'll probably need something like https://www.cars-equipment.com/en/shop/bluetooth-kits-6/oem-vw-skoda-seat-bluetooth-handsfree-8/ although there might be a better/cheaper supplier in Australia.

Hey mate,

Yes I have the maxidot display.

I've checked the options list for my Octavia and it doesn't appear the Bluetooth option was added.

I do have voice control of the Nav unit though.

Would I be able to get away with just getting the BT module? And does it need to be OEM or can I get reproduction do you think?

I have found an RCD510 with a 5K0 035 190B Bluetooth module for cheap at a nearby wreckers. Would that module work? Or a 7P6035730E module?

Thanks mate

5K0035190B is the part number of the headunit, not the bluetooth module.

I'm pretty sure the 7P6035730E module will work but I'm not super familiar with the older, non-premium modules. You'd then need a loom like this: https://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/rear-view-cameras/oem-vw-skoda-seat-bluetooth-wiring/

If you're handy at wiring, you can also try something like this: https://www.carsystems.eu/bluetooth-wiring-for-soldering-a2dp-sds-2-5m,id1689.html but you'd need to tap the power, ground and CAN-bus connections on the headunit connector.

After fitting, you should use VCDS or similar to make sure everything is correctly coded.

Thanks for the info.

Is there some kind of list available of the modules that work? That would be ideal instead of playing a guessing game haha.

I have the full Columbus stereo with voice command in mine, the white maxidot display as well. So I think from my reading I just need the module and loom, and to someone with vcds do the techy bit.

I just need to find out what modules work. I want full usage of the MFD/MFSW, audio streaming, and calls. So I need the 9w7 module but don't know what the part numbers for it are 😞
