Facelift DRL to white - help

Featured Replies

You can certainly try those bulbs as they aren't expensive. I don't think they'll be super white as blue coated halogens never are, they'll also probably be dimmer than the standard bulbs too.

I can't seem to find to seem anything about limastar but I'm very surprised if they are ECE approved given the amount of tint on them. Other similar bulbs certainly don't claim to be road legal.

You can get osram LED's that fit the DRL's which are reasonable quality compared to some of the cheap Chinese stuff that floods the market for car bulbs.

Not strictly road legal of course, but that rarely seems to be an issue.

Yeah, I am aware that LED’s are better. They just aren’t road legal, which is important to me

The factory fitted drl bulbs have a heavy duty filament to withstand the vibration when the drls are bumper mounted, like on mine.  Eventual failure is normally due to fretting away of the central solder contact pip by the vibrations. Ordinary filament bulbs only last a short time before the filament breaks.

The quoted bulbs say they are a new extended filament life bulb so probably meet the requirement, but it is something to watch out for.

I found a pair at a local store today. I like it better. Pretty much the same bulb as the one linked in OP. 5€ á and is street legal in Europe.F5D6F042-952F-497B-8ED1-36D6DC58BEBF.thumb.jpeg.591a16b7c77600af56b2e21510b98f22.jpeg

Yes they appear to be E-marked so are road legal in Germany at least.

The only ones I can find are a pack of 10 on eBay but it's always good to have spares I suppose! Lol.

They only cost 25,99€ which is good!

Have you got a link for these?
