Very nice. They are damn nice lappies.

I nearly got an upgrade from my D810 to a dual core D820 , but I couldn't in all honesty justify the cost even though it wouldn't be me paying for it.

I'll have to make do with my single core 1.86ghz , 1gb RAM , 15.4" 1680*1050 screen and 100gb HD for now

3) Wait for the next Intel chips in a few months which will do better virtualization etc etc

Edit: Have a D600 a.t.m which is up for replacement. I assume both of the above will use my accessories? Battery, docking station etc?

Yes.. all D-series accessorys will fit.. im not 100% sure on the battery tho.

compariively between my 610 and 620:

the 620 is lighter, thinner and slimmer (but slightly wider to accomodate the screen)

But its got so many "pimp" features.. eg auto light sensing screen, fingerprint recignition, smartcard slot, 3g mobile card. titianium case... etc

Neo_VR: Thank goodness for that - it was bad enough my being jealous about your laptop. Seriously though, a decent piece of solid pine (no knots) and some rosewood stain will do a pretty fair imitation job TBH.

I doubt I could imitate your laptop for 40 quid though Might have to get one of those cardboard display ones that they have in furniture shops until I've saved up enough pennies to get a new one like yours It looks that posh I can envisage my mum saying, "You're not going to use it are you?".
