Am a proud owner of several skodas since year 2000 One at the time.

 

My latest Skoda is SKODA Octavia 1.6 TDI SE L 5dr (16 - 17)   

 

I am having a bit trouble with the car  as the problem that am facing i haven't yet been seen around.

 

On a cold start (when you have the car  been off over 8 hours) the car would have a bad/rough start  ie; the  normal engine noise would be  a bit up and down  the rev would go up and down...... This stays for 3 4 minutes and after that the car start work normal. This never happens again until i leave the car stop for +8 hours.

Seams that Cold days (3 4 celcious degres) make car have worse start and takes longer to car  gets into normal behaviour  +1 +5 minutes normal.

If is a warm day I (10 12 degrees) Still makes the problem But is less severe and normal can last less.

I took to the garage and they have a look into
 

No code faults at all.

 

They had a look into a possible  fuel leak/ Fuel return leak (none).
an they  took injectors to be tested and they come as non faulty.

They had looking into many of the readings and they come across that.

1) terminal 15 (ignition) is always at 2.31 2.41 Volts they  reckon that should be arround the 12 vots.   but problem above goes away and the voltage is around same.

 

My 1st question is  any one knows what should be the reading of the terminal 15 voltage on this particular car?

 

They had contact a few ppl to have a second opinions and  come to ligh that in cold start the fuel pressure goes up as near 1000 bar, and  when car start work normal the pressure is arround 250 mark  +-50.

My second question is if anyone knows if this is normal and if not what should be the right  readings.
 

I bough this car  from the Main dealership as ex demo.  so i don't think that remaps haven't been done, 

My garage (isn't skoda dealership)  Thinks that the problem may be with the ECU as they could see that the ECU request  750+ Bars ) so they think something is bad with the ECU. I have no idea what could be the problem, they think the ECU could be somehow faulty or when i brought the car to dealership to fix some  warranty they had a  software update that could gone bad.  

 

Again  what i notice when i start the car after +8 hours stop is that the car works erratically with the rev going from 500 to 1200 and if i press the accelerate the car it will not rev at all-  then it rev  but with a sudden power loss (as the fel wont reach the engine) and then he comes again and eventually he gets working decent . 

I mention to the garage about this forum and they said that would be a good idea report here the problem as may happen that someone may know what could be the problem and steer us in the right direction.

I would have thought that the garrage would check but, as  it is a diesel, have they checked the glow plugs for correct operation and are you letting the glow plug indicator light go out before you try to start the car? Trying to start a diesel engine without pre-heat would result in the symtoms that you detail.

Had a new battery and if not what make is the original?

 

there was a batch of duff  ones I believe.
