MFSW Switches Not Working

Featured Replies

The right side switches and scroll wheel have stopped working this evening, so I can’t change the info the maxidot display from the phone connection. Bloody annoying. I guess either the SW Controller or the switch unit has failed. Fortunately, it’s still under the five year warranty so I’ll call SUKCS to log it; provided this ends sometime in the next 11 months I should be OK!

Another one, possibly two people have experienced a similar issue on here.  Fixed under warranty IIRC.

Good shout to get it logged with SUK CS'

Cheers... very interesting that there’s been a couple of failures, given how much these switch-sets are used in so many VW vehicles I guess that’s a very low failure rate.

SUKCS were very helpful and the phone was answered within a minute. The agent was WFH, however their chosen VoIP provider was very poor - the agent had to call me back from their private mobile as the quality of the call was terrible; neither could understand what the other party was saying. Anyway, I got the all important Case Reference Number so the fault is logged.

Quick update. The switch was replaced in less than an hour by Transcity Skoda, under warranty.

Unfortunately, they broke the bonnet cable which, I was honest enough (stupidly perhaps) to say that it didn't operate until the lever was right at the top of its travel, so they charged me £77 to fix it as apparently, it was a "pre-existing issue" so not warranty - yep, I'll be taking it up with SCS!

In any event, they had no choice but to fix it, as they needed to disconnect the battery to remove the airbag to access the MFSW switch assemblies. Anyway, its fixed the main problem. They also ignored my complaint re the noisy tailgate struts too, so they're still, well, noisy... ahh well...
