Engine coolant question

Featured Replies

This leaves me completely confused, but I think I will stick to the purple G13, even though the header tank has G12 written on it, the hand book clearly states G13. Worryingly, when the cam belt was changed just before I purchased the car, the garage used pink coolant (G12) and over filled the engine oil, hence I have little trust in garages.

Difficult to get genuine G13 coolant now from main dealers as it has been replaced with G12 Evo (just to add more confusion!)

G12 Evo is meant to replace G13 and its readymixed (whereas the genuine VW G13 was concerntrate)

Ive been told by many VW and Skoda dealers that all they ever use now is G12 Evo in place of G13

The G12 Evo should also allow you to dispense with the silica 'tea bag' in the expansion bottle ( if it has one that is. )
