Odd, i thought this was 'First Information' last July.  They get fuglier with each image.

Must be the first of the latest factory fed incomplete information in 2020!

Mild hybrid & DSG's is certainly the way to go since Skoda will struggle to get the low average C02 g/km required as they have not got any EV's production ready other than the limited number of Citigo iV's available.

Looks like it's made of Lego bricks, clunky, not impressed, will buy a Volkswagen Up  GTI before I buy that

The 22" rims are impressive though.

You’ve decided not to buy a car based off a **** photoshop?

Skoda's way of feeding images to media or onto Social Media always seems strange as the images are never really of something that makes people go 'love it, want it, how different it looks from any other leaked Skoda models'.

Peoples reaction seems to be more like, 'It looks better in the flesh than it did as a photoshop'.   Well sometimes, allowing for some facelift disasters.

No estate, no deal.

I do wonder what market Skoda are aiming for

A cheap runaround - not really if expected to cost £15k - £20k

A small family car - do families really want small hatchbacks

A car to take your dogs - not unless a low sill estate is made

A small city car - what advantage does it have over new electric alternatives

A premium small car - its a Skoda, some will pay silly money for badge snobbery

Maybe I am odd, but I would prefer simplicity (and price) of a mk1 Fabia estate reborn (but with latest engine), not some overpriced Tonka toy styled car

The market has moved on from fabia sized cars, the Scala in theory is where it should be at.

bloody ugly looking thing too

The crossover / mini-suv craze hurts me inside, there's really not a whole great deal more space inside the car considering how bl**dy huge they are vs a "small" hatch like the Fabia.

Yes, people struggle sitting behind me in my Fabia, but i'm really tall and it's a small car, my parents old Volvo XC-40, an absolute tank in external size comparison, didn't have a whole lot more room in the back than my Fabia. Considering it's about 6ft wider and 12ft longer i'd expect at least a couple inches more knee room.

I guess all the extra size is taken up by all the external plastic trims and stuff that'll inevitably go light grey and horrible looking after a bit of summer sunshine.

Prices going up bugs me too, manufacturing technologies advance, become more efficient, better economies of scale.. prices should be going down!

I expect they're probably pushing prices of ICE cars up so there's not such a massive difference in price between them and the electric variants to try push people toward them instead. I'd rather they sort out the cost of the batteries, battery companies must be making an absolute bomb!

I guess the trend towards bland samey watered down SUVs and crossovers is an indicator to the general intelligence of the public, which certainly seems to be decreasing given how many people are unable to follow pretty clear and simple government orders to stay inside and only go out for essentials.

(end of rant, actual relevant comment below lol)

On the other note, the previous "leak" or whatever it was, looked more like a hot-hatch, and i quite liked the front end and headlights (though the wheels seem to poke alot in both pictures which just looks odd), but the newer leak is just ugly. Hmm.

I agree with a comment above that i would want to see the estate before i would be at all interested, its the fact that the Fabia estate is unique in its class, i do hope they add this to the production.

In one's ignorant youth the appearance of a car matters a lot. Then as one grows older and wiser, appearence matters less and less and costs and reliability become the main drivers. However, a lot of people never achieve that level of maturity and the manufacturers know it - does the average TV car ad ever mention cost and reliability? Of course not because only those with higher than average IQ take note of those things. I simply don't care what a car looks like as long as it ticks the boxes which really matter but then I know that I am in the minority.

^^^ This will be why during the life of the Mk2 Fabia there were years where they were selling around 1/3rd of all Skoda sales in the UK.

There was a choice of engine sizes in petrols or diesel, manual or DSG and hatch or estate.

Basic to well specced to chose from £9,000 - £17,000

Now Skoda have no petrol Citigo's to offer and a very limited choice of petrol only Mk3 Fabia.

I'd hope not, the Fabia is pretty much the right size for my use case: one-person commuting, with the occasional need to carry relatives or luggage, but still fits in my garage without trapping me. Past experience has shown the Citigo to be too small, and besides -- I wanted something with a TSI.

If it doesn't tick the good looks box first I look no further.

No Fabia DSG either.

Well I suppose if they will insist on attempting to make it look vaguely like a SUV, then I will have to keep mine for a long time or get a Dacia. I mean why on earth would I want to/need to pay another £2,000 or more for a Scala, it doesn't make sense.

I feel let down. Discarded by Skoda. After a Datsun Bluebird, Two Honda Accords,(very good) a Citroen Xantia TDI (Fantastic ten years of faultless service), Mark 2 Octavia 1.9 TDI  (incredible kept near ten years), Then a really bad car -an early Rapid diesel. Hated it apart from the engine and now the car I wish I could have married years ago,  the nicest-to-drive car I've ever had:  my fabulous Fabia  1.2 TSI DSG Estate . Just looking at it makes me feel good.  I could drive it all day and night with a smile on my face.

What the bl***y h**l is that vile copy of some weird Citroen called a mark four Fabia.  If it is anything like that in real life that's it. Kia  for me or Seat [but the engine and gear box selection is dire].  Sorry Skoda it was good while it lasted .  "Nothing good ever lasts".

{As Iris DeMent says}

It'll just be a mildly reworked copy of the current Polo, just like the Mk 2 & 3 are.

What ever they do to the body shape while fast tracking Mk4 Fabia to show late 2020 to have available to buy and drive in 2021 needs more drive train choice.

That would mean that with a DSG they need to be Mild Hybrid to get the low emission figure Skoda need to have the average C02 figure that Skoda are chasing.

As it is just offering 1.0 Manuals is a joke, especially as there is just Citigo's EV's and to get an auto ICE you have to go to a Scala / Kamiq.

http://skoda.co.uk/new-cars/fabia

What Skoda seem to have forgotten is in more rural parts, a car is more of an essential than a lifestyle choice, not everyone wants a large smartphone with a wheel in each corner

My fear is all this gadetry is just more to go wrong,  it doesn't make it any more practical to put the shopping or dogs in back

In my experience many people just want car to be dependable and reliable, especially if it is second car and luxuries aren't needed.   i think they have lost their way at the lower end of the market and I can't currently think of a reason I would want a new Fabia compared to say a cheap Dacia sandero stepway.

At the current time our Skoda is sitting in the dealers service Dept awaiting parts, as Skoda have run out of a part it needs in UK, (been there a week, still no word when part might come),  so Skoda parts (lack of) has more than reversed any desire to have another Skoda that their advertising Dept gained

New pictures about the new Fabia 2021 offered by Auto Bild:

SKODA FABIA 2021

Skoda Fabia 2021 (1).jpg

Personally, I think the looks stale-wharted at the `fabia 2... After the, they just went too "Corperate", Too "Angular" and now, they look like they are trying to be Seat/Audi owners cars, not Skoda owners cars. Perhaps they know people can ill afford an Audi but want one. I wanted the Fabia when I had mine. Looked at it, looked at a Fiesta. Looked at the Skud, looked at a Citroen. Looked at the Skud and on it went. The Skoda had what I wanted, needed and I liked the overall shape and looks. A bit like the old Yaris. They then became something else, with the same name and kept nothing of the old car.

I think this generation will appeal to those who want the aggressiveness of the VRs but not so much to the everyman/woman who liked the curves, etc of the MK 2.

I wonder how many MK 2's were sold and how many MK 3"s, globally? I would think there was more MK 2's but I suppose some people always want the NEW shape!

If offered by the end of summer 2021 that would be a MY2022 car.

Never understand the releasing of Maybia it will look like this and Maybesometime that look years ahead with Skoda feeding media stuff to get website / social media its.
