Car Serviced Lots of Problems

Featured Replies

Hi people need some information

Car went into the garage for normal yearly service yesterday and got a phone call with a list of noticed problems. Basically wat i want to know is what stuff below except problem 1 can be done by myself and if any one can offer any advice and a rough cost on parts. My car is a 1.4 mpi 8v 51 plate

1) Oil in Expansion bottle, apparantly a sign thats the head gasket is on it way out (apparently the used car warranty might cover this).

2)Rear shock absorbers are leaking (might be a large amount or barely) - any tips with these to get to etc?

3)Anti Roll bar bushes need replacing - apparantly the whole thing needs replacing as the bushes are intergrated - is this true or dealer talk - possible to replace by ur self?

4)Rear wishbone carrier arm bushs need replacing again how easy possbile to do by self?

I will be putting the car up a set of posts at the weekend to investigate its apparantly enough to cause the car to fail its mot which aint good lol, if any one can supply part numbers too thats a bonus .

Thanks peeps

Alex

Hi

1) Is covered in to a 5th year of warranty

Call Customer Care and check it out.

0845 7745745 is their number.

2) I have known these go from 40k on.

Possibly look for kits that are cheap.

3) Again these was extended in the warranty so check them out too.

4) While on the phone to Customer Care check them out too

Sarah
