Can you not open the bonnet without opening the passenger door

Correct. Well, you can apparently pull the lever towards you, bending in a way it’s not designed and it’ll pop open.

This is a bad design fault. Parking against a wall as I’ve just done and trying to flip the bonnet...what a farce. Can’t believe they’ve done this. Hope the designer was paid well.

Just be thankful it's only because of the way you parked and not because the battery went flat and left the passenger door deadlocked

Yeah, could certainly be argued as a bad design flaw. Their argument of course will be they’re not redesigning absolutely everything for the RHD market given how small it is.

Then they should make it generic in the first place.  Plenty of cars have the bonnet release so it's not dependant on any door opening and is in the lower dash.

Ye nearly dislocated my shoulder the first time i tried to open the bonnet when it was in the garage. 🤕

Even my cheap as chips Citroen C1, which still has the bonnet release on the LHS, allows you to pull the release lever with the door shut.

Another triumph of styling over function... 🙄

I would guess that this design is on purpose, so you cannot open the bonnet by mistake while driving ...

Seems that every other car on the road manages without this "design feature" though?
