@Roottootemblowinootsoot my car doesn't have the expected mileage because of a years absence from driving and a slow reintroduction due to funny work shifts

Only kept hold of the car because of the 0% finance and the £30 ved

@Roottootemblowinootsoot mine has been on a variable service plan since new (by previous owner).

I’ll be changing it to a fixed plan when it’s next due (12 months/13,000 miles as it currently stands) however, as said above, I’ll get it done a it earlier to fall in line with the MOT in March.

I very much doubt I’ll cover 13,000 miles between now and then.

@tunedude I’m the same when it comes to oil changes, always religiously had them done every 12 months or 10,000 miles. Not keen on these long life plans.

I know a chap that changes the oil in his Evo every 5000 miles.

That's it, the LL service plan is designed to be for the motorway cars. You can understand that because if you're doing a lot of miles on the motorway, it doesn't put a lot of stress on the engine and other components (brakes, suspension, etc). But if you're using your car for such commuting, I'd want to ensure the life blood of the car was in good nick.

And yeah I understand about changing it every 5k on an Evo, their engines are most happy when kept filled with good, quality oil. Same with my track bike; dump the oil after each track day. Doesn't cost much to do, but an engine rebuild certainly does.

A Mitsi EVO is a whole different story,

and in Australia Subaru have that as the Oil Change interval on their cars. (Well customers and not just Scoobys.)

The thing is all Skoda since about 2010 / 112 apart from the Citigo left the factory on Flexible / Variable servicing and the choice is then for the Owner or person leasing to choose what they want.

It is not that complicated really,  just a pity that Salespeople on behalf of the Technicians do not ask the Customer what they want the Service interval at.

As in Left as they got the car on Variable / Flexible or changed to fixed to suit their needs, Service Plans etc.

Then the next thing is when on Flexible / Variable so 24 Months / 18,000-20,000 miles a 'Service Due' flashes up after 12 months.

Or some Tech / Fitter messes up resetting.

There are so many senarios that go on, and the odd thing is that Dealership Service staff seem to forget that when customers ask.
