Featured Replies

Hello

i have octavia 3 and i have problem with led bulb in my headlight. When i use this Led Bulb, car write me fault. I try this (LED sidelight bulb coding for Xenons) in this forum, but its sidelight and i need this bulb (picture). Can coding in VCDS this bulb or no?

Thank u for help and and apologize my simple english.

If you change a standard sidelight bulb for an LED bulb, it will need to be coded on VCDS or an equivalent app.

If you don't, you'll get an error

its not sidelight its DRl and parking light (picture red ring) and i know need to be coded, but i need what change in VCDS, tutorial, or something ...

sorry, thought it was the sidelight.

Any bulb which is monitored (and that one will be) needs to be coded if you change it for an LED bulb.

and i need what change it in VCDS :)

Do you have a xenon light with LED DRL or not?

I've just cottoned onto that.

@Pugi if you have xenon headlights, the above diagram isn't for your car

I have headlights on the picture. What u don't understand? ..This is without LED DRL (picture  red ring) THIS IS WITH LED DRL (picture without red ring). IS DIFERENT... and i need coding LED BULB in red ring so car not write fault, coding in VCDS - procedure, what change .... that's all

So if the bulb circled in red is already an LED, you will not have to do any coding. If it is a standard halogen bulb, then you will have to.

I assume your car isn't a VRS, yes?

You might want to start by posting a full autoscan from VCDS and the adaption map of 09 (BCM) so we can see how things are configured.

so that´s not simply, how adaption LED bulbs in sidelight or numberplate light?

where i can change 4 clicks?

I think the OP wants to install a LED bulb in the sidelight instead of a halogen one but is saying that the coding we have here doesn’t work. This coding is for the Xenon lights with LED DRL. Clearly if this doesn’t work the light channel for this bulb is different from the cars with LED DRL. This lamp unit was never available in the UK so the vast majority of us will not have the answer, unfortunately.

Unless you get the answer from someone it’s going to be a case of working out the channels yourself, try looking for one where the bulb type is Lasttyp and change to LED Lichtmodul.

I think the op wants to install a LED bulb in the DRL ................but it's a little difficult to understand.

Sidelight would be number 10 I would have thought.

Be interested to know the Op's nationality, and where they reside, and more information regarding age and model / spec of car?????????

Yes, it's probably a easy change but without understanding how your car is configured, I'm not going to suggest any coding changes...

If that’s the DRL then where is the sidelight or is it a dual filament bulb? Not having access to this lamp type makes it hard to work out.

I'm not even sure it's not a wind up by the way it has been written.

I mean, there's 'foreign English, and there's bad English, and it doesn't sound like foreign English to me??????

I recognise the w5w and the Xenon, but what the others are, who knows.

Why one would put numbered drawings without the numbered descriptions to go with them, i don't know.

I've checked the circled bulb on the workshop manual and is labelled as Bulb for side light and daytime running light - p21/5w

^^^^^ Doh!!!  Where is my head at.      Thanks.

Things may look slightly odd as there was 2 separate threads regarding this problem - but they've now been merged.

Thought I was going mad... 😆
