Recommendation for suspension/dampers

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, my fabia has had H&R springs with oem dampers for more than 25k miles and the dampers having just over 60k miles the ride has gotten quite harsh, im looking to upgrade dampers while keeping my H&R springs so I would like your suggestions on which route to go, it is either between Koni Str.t , ST dampers or bilsteins b8.

I know bilstein b8 are the best but I would like your opinion regarding cost/performance/longevity since b8 are almost double the price of the konis.

AP coil overs aren't the worst but you must bare in mind, The MK2 fabia's are an awful ride from standard so to improve it drastically you need to spend thousands.

Are blistiens worth the money just for road use? I honestly dont think so.

I spent the extra with my previous Octavia VRS and bought BilsteIn B8 shocks to go with ,my standard springs. They made a big difference to the handling of the car over uneven surfaces. Before it used to wander a bit from side to side on the uneven surface, but after fitting them it ran straight, absorbing the bumps easily, which gave me even more confidence at higher speeds. You might get the same improvement in handling with the cheaper shocks though. A hard question to answer. The handling around bends improved even more when I fitted a stronger Whiteline rear anti- roll bar and poly bushed the front wishbones.

Thanks, I can't get coilovers lets say I don't have the most perfect streets around me, I'm more inclined towards the konis, look good for the price, I would just run bilstein b4 with standard springs if the car wasn't like a giraffe stock.
