Sunglasses Holder won't close

Featured Replies

Hi All

After once again perforating my scalp on the (very) sharp corner of the refusing-to-snap closed sunglasses holder in the ceiling of my 2015 estate, I am returning to the Briskoda Well of Expertise! Previously the holder has occasionally been stubborn to close, but a little bit of gentle encouragement has always done the trick. No more it seems; no matter what I do, it will not close. The problem seems to be with the two small catches (or perhaps their 'receiving' part). Although fully intact, they aren't catching in the closed position.

Has anyone had this issue (there seem to have been others with the issue in other Skoda models) and been able to resolve it satisfactorily? (I love my car so I will leave discussion as to why I have to resolve this issue at all in an L+K until another time...Grrr!!)

Thanks in advance for any advice

I have brand new Sportline 2020 and sometimes the bloody thing would not close as well... Seems there is a design flaw in the catchers ... who know... It sometimes needs some gentle touch to get closed. 😡

Glasses too big?

Seriously though I've not had an issue with it. Only thing was the glasses rattling about in the holder until I solved it by putting a small piece of bubblewrap into the tray.

...I'm at the point of considering bubblewrap for my  poor, bleeding scalp!!

An L&K isn't higher quality than an S (or is it that the S isn't lower quality than an L&K), the L&K just has more bells and whistles.

You may have to take the trim off around it to work out why it isn't catching.

Thanks for replies, Folks, and apologies for delay; strange times...

I’ve yet to solve this. I’m loathe to go pulling trim off just yet, so any additional suggestions would be welcome.

Superbs like mine that have a sunroof don’t have a sunglasses holder...

More sun in the car and nowhere to store sunglasses! Fantastic thinking by the designers there....
